Baloch Women Panel demands for Referendum in Balochistan on the basis of "Right of self-determination"

19-01-2008

In a brief interview with Radio Gwank Balochistan - Advocate Shaker Bibi Baloch - Chairman of Baloch Women Panel - has demanded to Pakistani Government and the whole world community, that coming election in Balochistanon should be held on the basis of " right of self-determination".... as to enbale Balochs to decide their own future destiny.

To resolve the long-standing rift between Pakistan and Balochistan, she said that the referendum should be held under the supervision of United Nations, European Union and other global observers, in which Baloch should be given the choice to decide whether they accept to join with Pakistan or opt to vote for an Independent State of Balochistan.

She further informed that Balochs have boycotted the coming fake selections/elections, and vehemently rejected the controlled democracy of Pakistan which has not benefited Balochistan for the last 60 years. In foreseeble future, Balochs can`t see any hope because -- among the beating of drums for elections -- "Pakistani Military`s attacks (operations) on Balochs are not ceased, Baloch political activists are, yet , missing in the number of thousands, hundreds of thousand Balochs, who were displaced by Pakistani bombardment, are still roaming in other parts Pakistan and - numerous Baloch Political Activists are behind bars among them Mr. Akhter Jan Mengal -former Prime Minister of Balochistan - and Mir Heyer Biyar Marri and Mr. Faiz Baloch, even in London, U.K.

Sheding light on Balochistan, Advocate Shakar Bibi Baloch reminded the world communiity that Baochs are not Talibans but a seculare force, yearning for their human rights. Balochs should be excluded from the list of those, against whom the war on terror is being carried-out. Balochistan was occupied by Pakistan in Marach, 1948. Those who reject the facts of "History", are voilating the Charter of United Nations and they should not forget that history repeats itself.

Further she rejected the charges of Balochs being terrorists. She explained that Balochs are freightened to be arrested and killed by Pakistan Army`s attacks. Balochs are facing the State Terrorism of Pro-talibani Pakistani Army. Balochs, in this scenioro, are only using their "right to life" by using the "law of nature" to defend themselves, their children, women, property, their mountains and thier long coast.

Supporting to boycott the fake selections/election in Pakistan arranged by the retired General Mr. Musharaf - the self-imposed President of Pakistan - Advocate Shaker Bibi Baloch demanded an immediate referendum in Balochistan, under United Nation peace keeping forces alongwith their observers, as to enable Balochs to elect their right path. A path to defeat talibans/al-quida and establish peace, prosperity and freedom in this part of the world.

Balochistan National Movement condemns Iranian regime in strongest terms for its barbaric acts in Balochistan

20-01-2008

The oppressed people of Balochistan have been suffering immensely from the oppressive policies of the Iranian regime for the past three decades. The regime has violated even the basic human rights of Baloch people by means of execution, use of sever torture, mass arrests and long-term imprisonment, intimidation and harassment and so on.

In the last year there is hardly any week gone by that the barbaric regime refrained itself from carrying execution in Balochistan. In the current month of January in two occasions mass executions were carried out by the regime in central prison in Zahidan. The regime even resorted to barbaric and medieval acts of amputation in Balochistan. On the 7th Jan 08, the regime carried out this barbaric and dreadful act on five Baloch in Zahidan and cut off their hands and legs. Again in this January in Pahra (Iranshahr as it is known) a large numbers of Baloch activists and ordinary Baloch were arrested and put in prison for totally fabricated allegations. Similarly another large number of Baloch youth were arbitrarily arrested and imprisoned in Chabar on suspicion of being involved with Baloch resistance soon after the mass arrest in Pahra.

Last year regimes’ representative in Assembly for Zahidan, Dr Sharyari unashamedly announced execution of 700 Baloch. The regime’s approach to Balochistan is of savage invaders and their policies are aimed not only to marginalise but to annihilate Baloch nation. The regime has recently embarked in unprecedented level on promoting Shi’ism in the detriment of Sunnism by dispatching Shia Clergies in hundreds to far-fetched villages of Balochistan where there is no single Shia person. Hence Baloch people have been experiencing very harsh treatments from the regime. Baloch people feel that every aspect of their lives is under direct attack from the regime. The killing of two innocent Baloch children by regime’s murderer forces (so called security forces) on 3rd of Jan 08 in Zahidan once again proven to the Baloch people that the regime recognises no bound and principles when it concerns Balochistan. In such a deprived environment, Baloch have been resisting with their full resolve the oppressive regime. Now in Balochistan various forms of resistance are taking place, from passive resistance to armed struggle. These movements are adjusting according to their strength and strategies.

Today in Balochistan the regime has no legitimacy and support among Baloch nation, and it is a fact.

Balochistan Raji Zrombesh (Balochistan National Movement) as a Baloch political organisation condemns the regime in strongest terms for its barbaric acts of amputation on Baloch, executions of Baloch, arbitrary arrests of Baloch activists and ordinary people, imposition of Shi’ism in Balochistan and imposition of draconian rule and policies in Balochistan.

Zrombesh calls upon people of Balochistan to resist with resolve the regime and its policies of annihilation. Let us commend the brave resistance of Baloch people in Zahidan for their courageous uprising in defence of two innocent children, killed by regime while carrying water in canisters.

We also call upon the oppressed nations of Iran to solidify their solidarity and fight together against the barbaric regime in the Congress of Nationalities for Iran. Let us call upon international community and defenders of freedom throughout the world to assist Baloch nation and other oppressed nations in Iran by expressing concern to our human rights.

Baloch nation shall rise and live freely for ever.

6 young Balochs arrested in Chah-Jamal episode are close to be executed or hung by Iranian Islamic regime

23.01.2008

To
Amnesty International
International Secretariat,
United Kingdom,
London

Urgent action and attention: 6 young Baloch persons (arrested in Chah-Jamal, Iranshahr episode) are close to be executed / hung by Iranian Islamic regime.

As you already are informed, the Islamic regime of Iran have recently killed several innocent persons, including 2 women, in Chah-Jamal in Iranshahr – Balochistan. In the wake of current horrible innocent, the regime had started the most comprehensive arrest action in the entire Balochistan, namely in Iranshahr area.

Following the regime's own news agencies dated Tuesday 15th january 2008, the regime’s “justice” system has performed primary step of the pronouncement of sentence regarding 6 young Baloch persons designated as A. M, M. S., A. M., M. H., H. B., Y. S. Theses persons were convicted to participating in illegal political activities such as having strong activity link to Jondullah.

It is completely obvious that these innocent persons are convicted by false accusation, and the current judicial process regarding them was performed unjustly, as it is the common procedure used widely in Balochistan. Following our sources in Balochistan, neither their families have been granted permission to visit them nor other individuals, after they were arrested in connection with Cha-Jamal episode in Iranbshahr.

Following reliable sources in Balochistan with whom we have been in contact, neither the 9 persons who were killed in the mentioned episode (inclusive 2 women) nor people in neighborhood who were arrested accordingly, had any link to Jondullah.

As it was expected by the character of Iranian “justice” system, these persons already were convicted as criminal the moment they were arrested.

Following the regime’s own news agencies, the final step of the pronouncement of sentence regarding these 6 persons will be accomplished in next week.

As informed, the Islamic republic of Iran has yet killed and still killing hundreds / thousands of innocent young Baloch with false allegations such as participation in drug handling processes and / or participation in armed groups. As informed also, the accused persons were arrested with no any right for justice defense against the false allegations. Being aware of these facts, the risk which threatens all these 6 prisoners to be sentenced to death or to meet very long imprisonment, is extremely high.

We would like to call international attention, the Amnesty International in particular, to our concern. Nevertheless we would like the international community to take the necessary immediate action on saving the life of these 6 young persons.

Thanking you in advance

Yours sincerely

The Congress of Nationalities for a Federal Iran Appeal for International help

London. 24 Jan. 08--The pressure on Iranian religious and ethnic groups is growing. The public discontent is becoming widespread all over Iran specifically in the 16 provinces of Iran that are dominated by Iranian nationalities or Sunnis. We witness every day protests by women, workers, students and members of religious and ethnic groups which are usually suppressed brutally by the Iranian government.

Since the Iranian regime has pursued a policy of complete control over the people in these provinces, the people are reacting vigorously to seek their basic human rights.

The regime is not allowing any kind of complain or protest against its brutal policies that sometimes result in death of innocent people. Hesamoldeen Khadeevar was killed by the security forces on 28 December 07 when the security forces run over his small fishing boat in the Caspian Sea, Turkmen Sahra in Northern Iran. When the local people protested against his murder, the security forces beat up the protesters ruthlessly and arrested several hundred of them. According to Turkmen activists, 300 innocent simple people who had not been politically active before but were involved only in protesting against the murder of an innocent fisherman are still in custody. Those who have been released claimed that they were tortured and those who are still in custody are not identified yet and nobody knows where they were and what has happened to them.

Ebrahim lotfollahi, a law student in Kurdistan, was arrested about a month ago and died after two weeks of severe torture. His body was not delivered to his family but was buried with concrete so that nobody can have access to see torture signs that were so much visible. He was a political activist that campaigned peacefully for the basic human rights of the Kurdish people in Iran.

In seven days from 28 December to 4 February, 30 Baluch were either executed or shot dead in Balochistan. The right hands and left legs of 5 Baluch people were cut off after New Year in Zahedan. Few days later a video film was leaked that showed the security forces were beating two Baluch young men ruthlessly while firing around them. The fate of these two young men is not clear.

Recently the bodies of several Arab political activists in the province of Khuzistan were found in a river and around the cities. The bodies showed horrible signs of torture. These were the Arab political activists that had disappeared some time ago and nobody knew what had happened to them and suddenly the public found their dead bodies scattered around the city.

At the same, the political activists of Azerbaijan reported that women activists were facing jail and torture for seeking the right of teaching their native language and requesting support for the release of political prisoners.

The Iranian regime is using excessive force against any kind of peaceful complain or protest by the Iranian religious or ethnic groups. The policies that Iranian regime is implementing in these 16 provinces are designed to starve people, impoverish them, hold them backwards deliberately, intimidate them, deprive them of jobs in civil service, deprive them of commercial licences, limiting the numbers of their students entering the universities and forcing them into complete and unconditional submission.

Obviously the people of Iran and especially religious and ethnic groups are under so much pressure that they cannot take these pressures any more. They cannot remain any more silent about the atrocities that are carried out against them every day. These atrocities are so devastating that according to Iranian officials, the poverty line in Baluchistan is about 76 percent. This figure is so high that is hardly understandable in a country that had $120 billion dollars of oil income only in the last two years. To show the devastation that the regime has caused in Iran, we attach few pictures that speak for themselves.

We seek the support of all human rights organizations, United Nations, political activists and leaders, journalists and trade union, think tanks, researchers and all freedom loving people of the world to show their concerns about the Iranian regime's policies towards ethnic and religious groups.

Save the life of a young 23 years old Baloch teacher in Zahedan -Iran

27 Jan 2008

To,
Amnesty International
International Secretariat,
United Kingdom,
London

Appeal for Urgent action

Subject: Save the life of a young 23 years old Baloch teacher in Zahedan -Iran

Yaser Setwan, a young teacher from Iranshahr is one of the six persons who in 2001/08 was accused of collaboration with a group called ”Peoples opposition movement of Jondullah” was put on “trial”. One week after the incident of “Chah Jamal Iranshahr” Yaser Setwan was by force and savagely taken from his work place in front of his colleagues and students to an unknown place.

Yaser is the first son of the family, consisting of two younger brothers and a syster. His father was an employee of education ministry and today he is retired and in his life he always tries to be a good father.

In Balochestan traditionally, the eldest son is responsible for taking care of the parents and the parents are used to live with their eldest son . Therefore the first son is in the Baloch families known as “cane of the old age”. Yaser`s father sent his “future cane” to school despite financial problems and in 1384 he received his bachelor degree in accountancy from the Open University of Zahedan (Azad University of Zahedan). After his education he was called for his military service where he served as teacher in Mirjawe. One month before the clashes of Chah Jamal he was dispatched to area of Iranshahr and he was teaching in one of the schools in this province.

One of Yaser´s acquentences said to our colleague:

“The family of Yaser had no information about their son till some time ago. The other day they were informed that their son had been arrested and he had confessed about his cooperation with Jondullah and his video will be

soon shown on TV. His family couldn’t believe, they tried to contact the court and the military forces asking for permission to visit their son but they were denied the permission. This acquaintance of Yaser continues:

Yaser was a serious student in the university and he did not even have time for fun and directly after his studies he joined the military. He didn’t have time to do any military actions. How do they claim that he cooperated with Jondullah? If he was involved in “clashes in Chah Jamal” he was not stupid to go to his work some days later! He could have gone out of the country because he would have known that he would get arrested! But he was innocent and he didn’t do anything wrong.. His only crime was that after the clash of Chah Jamal he had expressed himself in the school that those who got arrested had been innocent, only this!! I am certain that the other detainees are like Yaser, they are innocent. They have been harshly tortured and beaten during their hearings and the regime later has tricked them to falsely confess.

According to the regime’s news agency (IRNA), the final verdict of these six persons will be announced during this week.

To Human Rights Watch

As you know the Islamic Republic of Iran tries to create terror in Baluchistan and they systematically arrest large number of young Balouchis.

Exactly like the way Al-Qaida and other terrorist organisation treat their prisoners and by threatening and putting gun to their heads the Iranian regime is forcing this young Balouchis to confess in local TV channels. Contrary to all conventions of human right, the government is depriving the right of these detainees to a fair trial and instead are sentencing them to prison and capital penalty in special courts.

Due to this devilish policy for a while ago five young Balouchi got their feet chopped of. Two of these were those detainees in the area of Chah Jamal who had by force confessed in front of the camera to their allegations. The lives of these young Balouchis have been destroyed and they will be invalid for their whole lives.

It is worth to mention that despite the fact that the Jondullah has rejected any kind of cooperation with the detainees in Chahe Jamal the regime is withholding to their role in Chah Jamal.

It is possible that this young man Yaser Setwan will face the same destiny as those in Chah Jamal therefore we ask for help from all the organisation of human right and advocacies of human right to bring pressure on Iran so stop such inhuman acts.

Thanking you in advance

Six young Baluch to be executed or hanged in Iran

27.01.2008
By Reza Hossein Borr; Leadership consultant

London, 25.1.08--The Iranian government released the identities of six young Baluch men that maybe executed or hanged in a near future after they were summarily tried without the presence of lawyers on charges of being members People's Resistance Movement of Iran (PMRI).

The government initially refused to disclose their identities because of the fear that the public may know their innocence and protest against the regime. Under public pressure, the government identified them as:

1. Mowlavi Abdolghodoos Mollazahi, the son in law of Molana Mohamad Omar Sarbazi, the author of more than 100 books, who was murdered few months ago by poisoning. He was the headmaster of the girl school that the Iranian regime claimed that People's Resistance Movement of Iran had planned to explode it. The contradiction is very clear. If the People's Resistance Movement of Iran had planned to explode the school, how its headmaster has become a key member of the Resistance?

2. Mowlavi Mohammad Yousof Mollazahi, another son in law of Molana Mohamad Omar Sarbazi, a teacher of the school.

The rest were students of the same school.

3. Ebrahim Mollazahi, student
4. Zakaria H, student
5. Habibollah B, student
6. Yaser Sarwan, student

For those who are familiar with Baluchistan, they are confident that these people had no any kind of relationship or connection with the People's Resistance Movement of Iran (PMRI). This organization has already categorically denied any relationship or connection with them and announced that these were innocent people and the security forces are responsible for their possible death.

These people were arrested in Chahe Jamal, Iranshar, where the security forces attacked a base of People's Resistance Movement of Iran (PMRI)

December 13, 2007. The security forces claimed that four top members of this organization were killed in the incident but PRMI rejected this claim and said only one member of them was killed and the rest were able to rescue them and moved to other bases.

The security forces began a clampdown on the area and arrested a few hundred innocent people that some of them were released later. Some of them are still in custody. The six of them were tortured to confess on crimes they have not committed. The families and relatives have been looking for them but so far they have not received any information about them.

Baluchistan has been a hotbed of resistance against the Iranian regime since the beginning of the revolution. The people of Baluchistan are Sunnis and they have been the target of severe discrimination and persecution and yet, they have continued to fight for establishing democracy in Iran. The Iranian regime has followed a policy of starving Baluch people by depriving them from government jobs, imposing severe restrictions on them and closing their businesses.

Few examples of discrimination of the government's policies in Baluchistan show clearly how the Iranian regime is determined to keep them backwards and make them the subject of worse discriminatory policies.

1. The government officials announced that 76 percent of the Baluch people were living under poverty line.

2. There has not been a president, prime minister, minister, deputy minister, chief executive, ambassador, army general, and any other high ranking officials in the Iranian government since the beginning of the revolution from the Baloch or Sunni community. There are between 15 and 23 million Sunnis in Iran.

3. According to a research by the United Nations, the Baluch children were found to have the highest IQ in the country and yet, from 70, 000 students in the universities of Baluchistan even 1,000 of them are not Baluch.

4. From 700 academic staff of Baluchistan universities only ten of them are Baluch who have educated themselves using their own means while the rest have received government scholarships.

5. This is a video film of 2 Baloch young men being beaten by the security forces.

The Baluch people are among the toughest people in the region. They have never been defeated by any conqueror or King. They do not accept surrender and submission. They continue to fight until they reach their objective which is a federal system in Iran in which all Iranian people enjoy equal rights regardless of their colour, race, origin, religion or background.

Top Iranian commander warns US

JANUARY 27, 2008

The chief commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard or Pasdaran has said it is his country's "natural right" to retaliate against any attack by the United States.

However in an interview with Al Jazeera, General Mohammad Ali Jafari sought to reassure Iran's Arab neighbours in the Gulf they would not be targeted in any future conflict.

"We realise that there is worry among neighbouring countries - Muslim countries whose lands host US military stations," Jafari said in an interview broadcast on Saturday.

"However, if the US launches a war against us, and if it uses these stations to attack Iran with missiles, then through the strength and precision of our own missiles, we are capable of targeting only the US military forces who attack us."

The US military has several bases in Arab countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Yemen.

Bush options

During a recent tour of the Gulf, George Bush, the US president, said Iran is "the leading state sponsor of terror", and said "all options" against Tehran remain on the table.

Many countries in the Gulf who maintain ties with both Washington and Tehran are nervous about the impact of any military confrontation.
