Balaach Marri..The Leading "North-star"
By Khan Jan Baloch ; http://www.bso-na.org
Nov. 22, 2007
The shocking news about "Balaach Marri`s" heroic duel spread all over the
world. Mir Gazzin Marri confirmed his heroic fall on 21st November and
Pakistani sources pointed-out the confrontation ground in Afghanistan,
accusing the NATO forces, attacking on the carvan of "Baloch Freedom
aspirants."
Pakistani Intellegence, as usual, plays his double games. Probably, sharing
the false intelligence with NATO forces, they labelled Balochs as Talibans
and were successful to eliminate them.... on the other hand, accusing NATO
forces to hit the Carvan of Mir Balaach Marri, was to... cultivate the seeds
of hatred in `Baloch`s hearts against United States. The shrewed ISI trick,
may be, was to push Balochs in the camp of Talibans, with the intention to
make a joint front to counter NATO forces in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
Pakistani Military toils on the line to frustrate Baloch`s last hope on west
world, specially on United States. As Balochs use to narrate stories that...After
God, America is our saviour and if they come, the first question Balochs
shall ask to them, "Why you came so late?"
The non-Balochs are deeply worried by the
martyr of Nawabzada Balaach Marri, because they have themselves gone through
the "fire & blood," caused by the barbarious Pakistani military, who have
made up their mind to....never go back in their barracks, because of their
selfish greed to loot State`s wealth and to do mega-corruptions, on the cost
of committing crimes on humanity in Pakistan. Army`s ugly faces are unveiled
to all Pakistanis. No one blames Balochs for anything. The silence of all &
sundry, is the absolute recognization of Baloch`s Rights. The right of
owner-ship of their land, coast & mineral resources and handing over
Balochistan to Balochs, as an Independent & Sovereign State.
Mir Balaach Jan`s freedom fight, briefed the whole world community and the
Baloch nation, all over the world ...... about the goal, dreams, aspiration,
firm determination and the solemn oath of Baloch nation, i.e. "Freedom or
Death."
The men of conscious must wake-up. A whole indigenios nation....Baloch.....is
in the danger of extinction from the surface of the earth, amid the nations
of the civilised world in the 21st century..... due to the indiscriminate
slow motion genocide of Balochs by draculian, Pro-talibani Pakistani
military and the firm determination of freedom struggle of Balochs has
reached on the point of no return...to-be or not to-be !!!
The world community has closly watched the recent events in Pakistan, which
unveils the true faces of the draconian attitude of Pakistani Military.
Balochistan has been treated in the same way since the illegal occupation by
Pakistani Army since 1948. The whole world is aware about the violation of
civil rights in Balochistan, this time, for the last three years. The media
men are not allowed in Balochistan. The western Journalists are kept in
Islamabad and Balochistan is a no-go area for all of them, including the CIA
agents.
In the last month, "Baloch Women Panel" had released an appeal to the U.N.
Security Council, to deploy peace keeping forces in the mountains from
Chagai to Qalat as the security of Balochs was jeoparized after the mass
insurge of Pakistani Pro-talibani FC including Pakistani artilary, heavy
gun-ship Heli-copters and Jet-fighters, inflicting harm to Balochs.
We have heard the feeble voices of Balochs for the deployment of NATO Forces
of Afghanistan in Balochistan, to stop the genocide of Balochs by Pro-talbani
Frontier Constabelry. According to U.N. charter, "A neighbouring country has
the right to interfere in a country, where there is happening genocide of
the comman civilians by any armed forces.".....Does this Internationl law, even,
not applies to Balochs????
Balochs have thrown all cards on the table... The illegal occupation of
Balochistan by Pakistani Military must be ended. In exchange of security,
Balochs offer the western community and the regional actors to.......directly
sign pacts/contracts, regarding the mineral resources and hydrocarbans in
Balochistan, with the multi-national companies. Balochs rejects, vehemently,
Pakistanis as their middle-man, which leads to left nothing for Balochs.
"A Camel owned by two Masters, suffers from
hunger & tired from carrying heavy loads."...Joke the Baloch nomads.
Historically, Balochistan has been a buffer-zone and a boost State for
Afghanistan. Balochistan, as a Sovereign State shall contract a loose
confederation with Afghanistan. Afghanistan, being a land-locked country,
shall get access to Seven Seas. The security, prosperity, and peace in
Afghanistan depends upon an Independent Balochistan.
The "Pro-mulla military" of Pakistan, rejects the rule of the public:democracy,
and insists for keeping Pakistan for themselves, because Pakistan is owned
and occupied by military. In 1971, General Tikka Khan had declared in
Bangla-desh, that, "He wants the land and not the people."
What is the option left
for the Pakistani public including Balochs?
"If democracy & civil rights of the citizens are in threat, the citizens
have full right to revolt". This is stated in the constitution of United
States and it is recognized by the civilized world. Balochs have their birth
right to revolt against Pakistani military to end the illegal occupation of
Balochistan by Pakistani Army. Likewise, the citizens of Pakistan has the
same right to revolt against Pakistani Army and snatch their genuine civil
rights.
"To undermine the present set-up of Pakistani establishment, it is needed
....guns", stated by the Spokesman of White House, recently. He meant Guns
from Army Generals to topple the Musharaf Government. The real solution, in
this scenrio, is... that guns should be given in the hands of the people of
Pakistan, to get their civil rights after totally undermining the present
structure of Pro-talibani Pakistani Military.
Of course, the guns in the hands of the pakistani public should be
handed-over by the supporters & sympathisers of democratic forces all over
the world.
After the fall of "Balaach Jan`s" gun .... the Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun,
Seraeki, Baltistani nation .... and the oppressed people of Pakistan should
take guns to crush and defeat the Pro-talibani Pakistani Military, to
acheive their rights. The right of freedom. Freedom from slavery,
ignorance, diseases, poverty..... by following the heroic path of the leading
Northern Star......"Nawabzada Balaach Marri"

Is the US trading
allies for security in Pakistan ?

ANALYSIS
Source: Is the US trading allies for security in Pakistan?
http://readoralive.com/2007/11/21/is-the-us-trading-allies-for-security-in-pakistan/
This story is especially intriguing because of the dispute over whether
Marri was killed in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Pakistan has long insisted that
the Baloch separatists are affiliated with the Taliban in Afghanistan (which
also has a sizable Baloch population), and therefore they must be crushed.
However, because the Baloch populations stretch from Pakistan all the way
into southern Iran, and because they happen to be flush with natural gas and
minerals, the US has long taken an interest in the BLA. In fact, it’s been
widely rumored that the CIA, and possibly Mossad, have been actively aiding
Baloch terrorist cells in southern Afghanistan and Iran. Of course Pakistani
Intelligence insists that Marri was killed in Afghanistan, implying that he
was there fighting for the Taliban.
Is it possible that, to facilitate and expedite Pakistani General
Musharraf’s internal crackdown on opposition, the US gave the Pakistani
military actionable intelligence against Marri, who may or may not have been
our ally against both Iran and the Taliban? If so, it shows some lack of
resolve on the part of the US Administration, given that the strategic value
of an independent and capital rich Balochistan far outweighs the short term
tactical benefits of an appeased Pakistani dictator. There is much to the
story of Balochistan that remains to be told.
A report claimed that Balach Marri was killed
in Sarlath area, the ***no man’s land at Pak-Afghan**** border near Naushki
district in an attack by Pakistani security forces.
However, another report claimed that ****Balach was travelling in a convoy
of vehicles in Afghan province of Helmund which came under air attack of
NATO forces suspecting his convoy of Taliban***** . But both reports could
not be confirmed either on govt level or by his family members.

Balach Marri’s
killing
22-11-2007 ; http://thepost. com.pk/
The news of the killing of the commander of
the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balach Marri, set the province on
fire on Wednesday. Riots, violent protests, armed attacks on security
personnel, government buildings, property, etc, became the order of the day
throughout the province. But the reports of the killing proved contradictory
on two counts. First, there were at least three locations quoted for the
incident, ranging from Helmand province in Afghanistan (in a mistaken Nato
airstrike), to the Pak-Afghan border in the Nushki area, to Kahan area in
Kohlu district in the Marri tribal area, the latter two at the hands of the
Pakistani security forces. Second, although a BLA spokesman confirmed the
martyrdom of the BLA commander, he was reluctant to give out any further
information as to location or how many of his comrades may have been killed
with him, for fear, he said, of compromising the safety of other BLA
fighters. Similarly, although his elder brother Gazain Marri confirmed from
self-exile in London that he had received a report about Balach’s death, he
too refrained from giving any further details for the same reasons. Balach’s
father, Nawab Khair Buksh Marri’s family sources in Pakistan however refused
to confirm Balach’s death, saying they had not received any irrefutable
information or details where his body may be.
While this reluctance on the part of Balach’s family may be ascribed to the
shock and grief accompanying the loss, there is weight in the consideration
of not jumping to premature conclusions on anything in Balochistan. Because
of the lack of access of the media or independent observers to the areas of
insurgency in the province, matters concerning Balochistan tend to be
shrouded in a fog of uncertainty, the spin of the authorities and the
occasional statements by BLA spokesmen notwithstanding. For example, the
news of the whereabouts of Balach and even Bramdagh Bugti, the grandson of
slain Nawab Akbar Bugti, since Bugti’s fateful killing in 2006, have been
full of contradictions, sometimes placing them in the Marri-Bugti area,
sometimes in other parts of Balochistan, and more recently, in Afghanistan.
In the absence of independent media access and reports, it is wiser to
refrain from judgement in Balochistan until irrefutable evidence is in.
That said, given the expected violent reaction in Balochistan to the news,
it would be instructive to consider the impact and implications of the
killing of Balach Marri, if and when the news turns out to be true. For one,
the violence that broke out in the province in reaction on Wednesday may be
repeated in the days ahead. Gazain Marri voiced the apprehensions of the
family that they wanted to avoid the desecratory manner in which the dead
body of Nawab Akbar Bugti was buried hurriedly by the authorities, without
his family’s presence. That would of course depend on where the body is and
in whose custody. Were there to be a repeat of the manner in which Nawab
Bugti was disposed of, the reaction this time round could be even severer.
Second, contrary to the possible triumphant mood amongst government circles
at having eliminated such a dangerous foe (circles that have maintained a
studied silence so far on the reports of Balach’s death, perhaps for fear of
further exacerbating the bitter reaction to follow), whose BLA accepts
responsibility for most of the armed and sabotage actions being conducted on
almost a daily basis in Balochistan, the likely outcome is to further erode
and weaken the argument amongst Baloch nationalist groups that there is
purchase in engaging within mainstream politics for wresting the long denied
rights of the people of Balochistan, thereby strengthening the contrary
sentiment that there is nothing to be had by remaining peacefully engaged
and the only path is to take up the armed struggle. That could end up
opening the doors to increased recruitment for the BLA, spelling more
trouble in the insurgency-infested province. The Musharraf government
remains wedded to the approach of only stick, no carrot in dealing with
Baloch nationalist demands for provincial autonomy and control over their
own resources, to be developed for the benefit of the people of Balochistan.
Whether this approach will produce the desired results is open to question
in the light of the history of conflict in Balochistan since Pakistan’s
independence. Without offering Balochistan genuine representation,
political, economic and social rights, provincial autonomy and control over
its resources, the ideas amongst one section of the nationalists of making a
clean break with the country are likely to increasingly become a
self-fulfilling prophecy.

Baloch Che
Guevara is Dead: The Freedom Struggle Continues
Paper no. 2473 ; 23-Nov.-2007 ; http://www.saag.org/papers25/paper2473.html
By B. Raman
The
Balochs all over the world and their friends and well-wishers in India and
the rest of the world are mourning the reported death of Nawabzada Mir
Balach Khan Marri, the legendary Che Guevara of the Baloch freedom struggle.
His father Nawab Khair Bux Marri has reportedly not yet been accepting
condolence messages from friends, relatives and the people of Balochistan
till he has seen the dead body of this proud son of Balochistan and one of
the legendary fighters for the cause of an independent Balochistan. However,
his elder brother Mir Gazeen Marri has reportedly confirmed his death and
indicated that efforts were being made to bring his dead body along with
those of his body-guards and four others, who were also reportedly killed,
to their ancestral land for burial.
2. The Pakistani military and intelligence authorities, who have been trying
to have the Baloch independence struggle discredited by alleging that the
freedom-fighters were operating from sanctuaries in Afghan territory with
the alleged collusion of external forces (meaning thereby India), have been
disseminating reports that Balach Marri, his bodyguards and associates were
killed in Afghan territory in an American air strike. However, Beebrag
Baloch, a spokesman of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), has stated that
they were killed in the Marri area in Balochistan.
3. Other sources also say that they died in an air strike by a helicopter
gunship of the Pakistan Army and that it has removed their dead bodies
before the freedom-fighters could reach them and take the dead bodies to
their ancestral land. The Pakistan Army, which has been using for months the
helicopters, communication interception sets and other equipment given by
the US for use against Al Qaeda in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas
(FATA) for its operations against the Baloch freedom-fighters, managed to
establish through the interception of their telephone conversations the
exact location of their hide-out and kill them. US given helicopters and
other equipment for operations against Al Qaeda and for locating Osama bin
Laden were similarly used by the Army in August last year to determine the
hide-out of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and kill him through an air strike. The
loss of a second legendary freedom-fighter due to careless use of
telephones, highlights the weak communication security of the
freedom-fighters, which has been exploited by the Pakistan Army and the
Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)/
4. The hopes of President General Pervez Musharraf and his Army that the
death of Nawab Bugti would end the freedom struggle were belied and the
freedom struggle continued with increased vigour. Their hopes that the death
of the Baloch Che Guevara would cause a serious set-back to the freedom
struggle would also be belied.
5. The news of Balach's death has led to an outpouring of anger all over
Balochistan. There were a number of violent incidents in Quetta and other
towns and four Punjabi policemen have been killed by protesting
demonstrators. There have been attacks on business establishments and
offices run by Punjabi settlers. The Army has rushed reinforcements to
Balochistan to bring the situation under control.
6. On November22, 2007, the Baloch Liberation Army carried out a number of
attacks on power supply lines causing widespread disruption in the supply of
electricity. The "Dawn" of Karachi reported as follows on November 23, 2007:
"Over 100 industrial units were closed in Hub as power to the entire Lasbela
district was suspended after a pylon of high-power transmission line
supplying electricity from Karachi was blown up on Thursday. ?The entire
Lasbela district was plunged into darkness after the huge tower of the
132,000kV transmission line was blown up on the Sindh-Balochistan border,? a
police officer told Dawn. ?Production stopped in all industrial units in the
Lasbela Industrial Estate and ship breaking work was suspended in Gadani.
Karachi Electric Supply Company sources said restoration of power supply
after replacement of the destroyed pylon would take at least a week. Another
explosion took place in Hub close to the wall of a post office in Allahbad
Colony. Quetta was rocked in the night by two powerful explosions in Killi
Bunglezai and in Smungli Road area."
7. The Che Guevara of the Baloch freedom struggle may be dead, but there are
thousands of Che Guevaras keeping up their fight for independence. They say
that the death of their leader has only re-doubled their determination to
keep up their independence struggle. It is incumbent on the people and the
Government of India to share the grief of the Baloch people and re-affirm
their solidarity with them. The death of the Baloch Che Guevara coincided
with the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi. Had she been alive today, she
would not be keeping quiet over this tragedy. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan
Singh and his colleagues from the Congress (I), who project themselves as
the true inheritors of the legacy of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, should
not hesitate to do what she would have done had she been alive.
7. The hearts of the people of India bleed for Khair Bux Marri and his
family and for the people of Balochistan and their freedom-fighters in their
hour of tragedy. They pray to God that He gives them added strength to
continue marching to their independence. Independence is their birth right.
Neither Musharraf nor the Pakistani Army nor the ISI can deny it to them.
